Was Eve the first Disney princess or is it like that Slytherin thing?
We are 60 days away from the inauguration of our 47th President of the United States. We are 34 days away from Christmas. We are 7 days away from Thanksgiving, and I’m going to tell you the real story about America. Because this bullshit that I read every day has got me tired and pissed off.
The story of America didn’t start in America. It started in Mesopotamia with a family that did two things well: they fucked and they fought. I wish there was a nicer way to say it, but as a 13th generation American I can prove that the capitalist system has a set algorithm that when hacked will give you the keys to kingdoms and the keys to nuclear launch codes, but it is so inefficient and will cost you your soul.
Welcome to the Space/Military Intelligence Learning Experience (S/MILE)
IMMERSIVE LEARNING AND CAPTURE-the-FLAG EVENTS
We will dive into a world of quantum intelligence, ethical social engineering, and ethically hacking the U.S. Government by looking through the Library of well known, not-so well known, and obscure stories of the queer and macabre. We will look at the world of espionage, back handed deals, and the trafficking of souls from the “underworld.”
Teaches critical thinking, information operations, and entrepreneurial skills, along with, media arts, digital literacy, and emotional intelligence
Follows the history of communications technology through the eyes of a family that has travelled the universe using ethical social engineering to make friends, learn new skills, and care for each community that has welcomed them
Potential to partner with vulnerable communities to rebuild and secure their critical infrastructure
Provides access to quality learning and upskilling courses, industry best practices, and historical after actions
Don’t forget to S/MILE… it makes them nervous!!!
Picking up where we left off…
We left off with Adam silencing Eve. Now there are so many places that I could take this, but we are going to start with talking about why Eve would need to know the difference between what is good and bad.
Up to this point God created a bunch of good shit: the birds, the fish, literally everything. God hung the Sun and Moon, and God did it with God’s voice. God, also, was the one dictating what was good, and everything God made was good. Then God made a garden and in this garden God placed Adam and Eve.
I’m not sure if you’re an only child, but I am so far from it. I’m one of eight in a blended family of Floridians. Make whatever assumptions from that you would like. The truth is there are only two types of Floridians: those that think Florida is Heaven and those that think Florida is Hell. Those that think it is Heaven graduated from college in Florida, and those that think it is Hell took the first bus out.
I caught the bus out in early August of 2005, and right now you cannot pay me enough to make it worth moving there. Every reason I wanted out is now plastered across every media outlet. The garden they are trying to build is to form the kingdom of man when the land they are trying to build on was never meant to be a kingdom. The garden is a place that you are able to drop your costumes, and be seen as you truly are.
God made the garden and placed Adam and Eve in the garden. God spent time with Adam and Eve, but God was not always present. The Book says that the snake said to Eve, but last time I checked animals do not speak the way humans speak. Eve was able to communicate with animals or at least the snake, and the snake was able to cause Eve to doubt what God said then manipulate it into a “need to know.”
The “need to know” is such a divisive topic. It very rarely is something that you actually need to know and rather a way of closing out another person. “This is an A and B Conversation so C your way out of it” type of response to a third party attempting to gain access to information that IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS (no matter how hard or cute they look when they beg).
In this case, the snake was offering a fruit that would give Eve the benefit of seeing things she has never seen before while being able to see the difference between good and evil. Eve’s “need to know” drove her to try the forbidden fruit; the snake succeeded in the manipulation and got two out of the deal when Adam ate too.
The story doesn’t end there, but in argument of liability. Who would be liable if the fruit had done what God said? Eve ate and died on the spot. Would Adam have cried out for God? Would Adam have eaten the fruit if not for Eve? We are taught not to question, but all I have are questions. At the same time, Eve did not die, shared with Adam, and together the two are turned out from the garden.
This story makes me think of all the things our parents told us not to do. It almost guaranteed that we were going to at least try it out once. Thankfully, we haven’t died yet (I mean you are reading this), and all the things we’ve been told not to put in our mouths have gotten put in our mouths.
At the same time, we all had a line that was a “Go directly to jail. Do not pass go; do not collect $200” type of line with our parents, and if I had to guess, if you were capable of becoming pregnant – that was the line that would get you kicked out.
Earlier I mentioned being one of eight kids and being the middle child allowed me to learn from the mistakes of those older than me. I never feared my parents kicking me out because my older siblings did some dumb shit, and thankfully they never caught my shenanigans. The day I learned that parents would kick their own flesh and blood out at the time their children needed them most was hard to handle – but Adam and Eve being kicked out for eating a piece of fruit, I some how never questioned.
What is next?
No one enjoys being manipulated; however, when you begin to doubt is the easiest point in time for manipulation to occur. It does not really matter what you are doubting, but what is happening is that your brain is attempting to understand what is real.
When Eve began talking to the snake a RED FLAG should have been thrown to remind her that she was no longer operating in the real world and was possibly getting a little in her head. She should have sought out help to determine the reality of the situation; however, Eve was of her own mind. Eve had a choice to make and she decided risking her death was worth knowing the truth about the world around her.
I do not blame Eve one little bit. The truth is that the world is an ugly place where individuals will try to manipulate you for their own design. Our ability to see through the evil in the world is what makes us uniquely children of Eve.
Next, we will look more closely at her children, but brownie points for those who can tell me what the witch’s mark has to do with them.
What am I looking forward to?
This weekend I’ll be exploring the Museum of the Native American with colleagues from work and hopefully working on all things S/MILE related. We got the World Pride Hacker Summer Camp & Runway Show fundraiser started this past week, so make sure you collect points for the Capture the Flag!!! It is going to be an amazing three weeks of all things sustainable fashion and I cannot wait!!!
What are we working on?
A Home for the Holidays – Community Support
According the 2019 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count of Persons Experiencing Homelessness in the District of Columbia by The Community Partnership For The Prevention of Homelessness released in May 2019, there were 6,521 homeless people on the streets of DC the night of that report, including 608 persons who were unsheltered, 4,679 in emergency shelters, and 1,234 in a transitional housing programs.
Following an approach used in Finland, the Hive Social Garden is raising funding for a Housing First program in Washington, DC, providing housing immediately and without preconditions to residents in need. The underlying principle of Housing First is that having a stable and secure home is a fundamental human right and a critical foundation for tackling other issues contributing to homelessness, such as mental health issues or substance abuse.
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, a chronically homeless person costs the taxpayer an average of $35,578 per year. Chronic homelessness refers to people who have chronic and complex health conditions including mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and medical conditions who experience long-term homelessness— and can be found sleeping on the street or in shelters. However, costs on average can be reduced by 49.5% when these individuals are placed in supportive housing. Supportive housing costs on average $12,800… that’s a waste of $22,778!!
