A note to myself from 10 years ago

I love the little revelations that God has been giving us since we returned from the Dominican. I don’t know if without the experiences we had I would realize all the little things that He is telling me or if there will come a time that I won’t be as perceptive to his voice, but right now I can not get enough. So tonight it started with homework. I was finally able to get into my class which was a nightmare trying to figure out in itself, but I digress. I copied my usual introduction post and began to update it. I was doing work too so I really wasn’t pay much mind to the words that were being typed, but as I read through it to make sure that I hadn’t made typos God’s purpose was revealed. Here was my intro….
“Hello, my name is Danielle Younker. I finished a five year enlistment in the Marine Corps in August 2010 and now I’m working as an associate consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton after taking about a year off to be a mom. I have two really great kids, Sarah who is 8 years old and Greg who is 4, and the greatest husband ever. No, really. He is the best ever. My time in the Marine Corps was outstanding; however all good things must come to an end and I was ready to just be “Mommy” for a little while. My husband, also Marine Corps, ended his enlistment in July 2011 and after a 6 month “vacation” at my parents home in South Carolina we found jobs in Augusta, GA.
I thoroughly enjoy spending time outside, especially at the beach, and I have a weakness for coffee and chocolate. I’m attempting to move to a clean diet and may even venture into growing my own garden eventually. I practice Holy Yoga and am extremely active in the fitness community on Instagram doing various fitness challenges and helping woman fall in love with their body no matter what shape it is.
For school, I have been slowly hacking away at my BA for almost nine years now. Slow and steady! I am so excited to be coming to the end, but as far as learning goes I don’t think I will ever end. I plan on moving into religion and theology, as my husband and I are planning on going into ministry. I will likely teach at some point in time, but my dream is to teach high school in a foreign country and continue with teaching girls how to love themselves as they are and as God sees them.
Looking forward to working with all of you!! Good luck as you finish up and move on to other ventures. God bless!!”
God is calling me to follow Stephen in whatever God has in store for him, but for me he wants me to teach, something that I have gone around and around about for years, but more importantly he wants me to work with girls who are in the middle of a very vulnerable time in there life and help them to see that they are beautiful and have purpose and are worth so much. For whatever reason, this is something that I have struggled with since high school, but God has been slowly working on me showing me that I am loved and I am worth so much to him. Stephen helped me learn this. I can see how much he loves me in everything that he does, even just a simple glace as he walks past me. The fact that God loves me more than that is just mind-blowing.
The other revelation is a reminder in what my dad said at lunch on Sunday. “You have to write things down and date them. That way you have a record and a reminder of what God tells you.” So hear is my record and reminder. Emails to myself that I can pull up later when I’m down or unsure or just need a little reminder.
Today…
If you are seeing this email, our paths have crossed at some time in the past 38 years enough where I have your email. Here is our current situation:

If this finds you at a place where you need a fresh start. I invite you to join us in whatever crazy journey is in store, and I’ll teach you what sustainable globalization looks like. I’ll share my knowledge and experience in Space and Military Intelligence, and show you ethical social engineering techniques to keep you and your family safe while working within the system to share your story and create new ones by building a sustainable communications network across the space-time continuum.
If this finds you in wealth and in health, I humble ask for your generosity. Stephen will be having surgery to remove a carcinogenic tumor in his lung. Thankfully, the VA will cover all of the medical costs, but we could use some help with covering expenses while I look for a new job.
If you decide to join us on this journey, I will advise you of the content warning. There will be TMI, NSFW, and complete transparency. The internet is often a dark and ugly place because it gives you a glimpse into the dark and ugly parts of humans, but when you navigate it with a proper guide, magic is possible.
